The Gardens to Host the Inaugural WPT500 Los Angeles in May 2017

The organisers of the World Poker Tour (WPT) revealed that it is to host a WPT500 event in California for the first time in its history. The event, called WPT500 Los Angeles is to take place at The Gardens starting on May 21st and lasting until May 31st. The event features a massive guaranteed prize pool estimated to $1 million.

Ron Sarabi, the General Manager of The Gardens – the casino facility that is to host the event – revealed that the entire team and staff of the casino was very excited with the fact they are to host the WPT500 Los Angeles for the very first time ever. He said that the buy-in of $565 would be affordable for a large number of players, and the $1-million guaranteed prize pool was simply fantastic, which made the event a perfect addition to The Gardens Poker Festival and a tournament that all players should attend.

The Gardens casino venue is to host a number of satellites for WPT500 Los Angeles. Players will be able to qualify for the event in return to a small and affordable buy-in of $65.

A total of 14 starting flights are to be featured by WPT500 Los Angeles. The event costs $565, and features the Action Clock by Protection Poker, which is set to be implemented in the contest as soon as the players field is narrowed to 54 on the second day of play.

Players who decide to become part of the competition, will be given a chance to re-enter over the first eight levels, with their best result in terms of chip stack will be used. Entrants will be given the opportunity to play as many Day 1s they like in order to qualify for the Day 2 of the event with the largest chip stack gathered. As revealed by the WPT500 organisers, the “best stack forward” format is to be used in order to guarantee that players who qualify for Day 2 with multiple stacks will enter the second day of the competition with the best stack they have managed to generate.

The first four starting flights of the event are scheduled to take place in the period from May 21st to May 24th, with one flight per day scheduled to kick off at 11 AM. Then, 10 additional starting flights are to take place from May 25th to May 29th, with two of them per day being scheduled. The final table of the event is set to take place on May 31st and is to be aired live on a global scale.
